Tom Silcock

Tom Silcock

Stud Principle and Classer

Tom is passionate about the merino bloodlines he has refined over the years. With a Diploma in Farm Management under his wing, Tom has spent his career educating others, while continuing his own education through a variety of industry networks.   Tom was Chairman of Directors of The Mountain Dam Past Company, Chairs the Australian Merino Sire Evaluation Association (AMSEA) and the Western Victorian Elders Balmoral Sire Evaluation Trial.  Tom is an Executive Member of the National Merino Ewe Lifetime Productivity Trial.  Tom is an active member in the community, volunteering for the local CFA and a Director of the Balmoral Community Store.

Stud Administration

Alison supports the enterprise and continues to manage the studs administration.

Alison is the President of the Horsham centre for Riding for the Disabled (RDAV) and an active volunteer coach.

John Silcock

John Silcock

General Manager

John manages the farming enterprise and brings his passion for cropping to The Mountain Dam.
John has a Diploma in Farm Management and spent years gaining diverse experience around Australia, before returning to run the enterprise.
John is a CFA and SES Volunteer.

Business Administration

Merty joined team in 2009 and brings her passion for animal husbandry to the enterprise.

Marketing Manager

While Joanne no longer lives at the property, she maintains a strong interest in the business and enjoys using her marketing skills to promote The Mountain Dam.

Assistant Classer

Adrian has had a long association with The Mountain Dam and enjoys working with Tom to determine the future directions for the Stud.
